After working on Fabric Data Factory (FDF) for a few years, I was recently challenged with the building of several Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines.  I felt that I needed a little bit of 'upskilling' as I'd already noted some differences between Fabric Data Factory and Azure Data Factory and it was at this stage that I discovered "Azure Data Factory and Fabric Data Factory: Data Integration for Data Professionals" from Dr Greg Low at SQL Down Under.

I specifically needed a course that would 'polish my existing skills' and this was just the course that I needed, although, I equally think this course would be great for the beginner as well. Greg, as always, takes the student on a journey through the tooling, starting with core concepts and the provisioning of both ADF and FDF, as well as common concepts such as wizard- based copying of data and implementing logic within pipelines.  

The course then moves onto additional details around working with parameters, templates, triggers, activities and integration runtimes. These areas were quite comprehensive and took my knowledge to a new level.

The course then moves onto additional detail around dataflows, pipelines and managing security before ending with 2 modules containing worked examples and advanced concepts - these were quite illuminating as I really like 'real-world' examples to supplement theory.

Greg also shares his knowledge and opinions on what is good, great and may need improving in the product in a clear and straightforward manner. I think most data professionals working on the Azure data platform would get a lot out of this course - as I did. if I was forced to give this a rating out of 10, I think I'd place it around 8-9 as this course boosted my confidence and I feel has taken my data integration skills to the next level.
